FAQ

You're probably
wondering...

  • Does PathWell replace my oncologist?
No. PathWell is a companion tool. All medical decisions stay between you and your care team; the app simply surfaces evidence-based options and reminders so you can have clearer, faster conversations.
  • What exactly is PathWell?
A secure mobile app that shows you how people with the same cancer diagnosis actually progressed, tracks your own symptoms, and prepares personalised questions for each doctor visit. It’s like a GPS for your treatment journey—built from millions of real-world records.
  • How do you find “patients like me”?
Our engine compares anonymised hospital claims, electronic health-record and trial data—matching on cancer type, stage, age, gender and key biomarkers. Only de-identified statistics reach your phone; no one’s personal details are ever shared.
  • Is my data safe?
Yes. We encrypt everything in transit and at rest, store it on ISO 27001-certified servers in Australia, and never sell personal information. You control what you share and can delete your account any time.
  • Which cancers can use PathWell today?
Breast, lung, colorectal and prostate will be fully supported; other solid-tumour pathways are in active testing. Hematology (e.g., lymphoma) is on our 2026 roadmap.
  • How much does it cost?
Early-access members get A$250 credit—covering the first 10 months. After that it’s A$30 per patient-month (often reimbursed by participating hospitals). A free basic tier with limited features is also available.
  • What devices are supported?
iOS 15+ and Android 11+ smartphones. A desktop dashboard for clinicians is in private beta—ask your oncologist if they’d like early access.
  • Can PathWell connect to my hospital’s record?
If your hospital supports FHIR-enabled portals such as Epic, Cerner or Magentus, you can link accounts in under two minutes. Otherwise you can manually import PDFs or share summary reports with your clinician.
  • Is PathWell approved by regulators?
We operate under TGA’s SaMD guidance; our Class IIa submission is underway with expected listing in Q1 2027.
  • What happens when I log a new symptom?
The app benchmarks your entry against similar patients and severity thresholds. If something looks concerning, you receive an in-app alert and a suggested note to raise with your care team; no automated medical advice is given.
